Break: The Musical, a web series created by writer Mary Bonney and songwriter/lyricist Matt Dahan, has won Best Original Soundtrack at the eighth annual Indie Series Fest awards in Los Angeles. Matt - who was also nominated for Best Original Score and twice for Best Original Song (for 'Print' and 'Just At The Start,' also written by Mary Bonney) - was on hand to accept the award and perform his nominated songs with the cast of the musical.

Break was also nominated for Best Series: Comedy and Best Actress: Comedy.

Waterlily Jaguar

Matt has signed on to provide the film score for Waterlily Jaguar. The feature film, which has just completed filming in Los Angeles, is helmed by director Melora Walters and executive producer Paul Thomas Anderson. The production company is Lexicon Entertainment, in association with Room in the Sky Films.

Walters is directing from her original screenplay, in which actor James Le Gros portrays a famous novelist seeking to write a more serious book, only to find himself tumbling down a spiral of obsession that may leave his most important relationships in shambles, including his marriage. Mira Sorvino stars as his wife, Stacey Oristano is his assistant and Dominic Monaghan is his agent. “Waterlily Jaguar” also stars Christopher Backus and Steven Swadling.

'The Babies' Arrive in NYC

The Babies, a stage musical that I contributed the music to and moved off-Broadway during the 2016-17 season, just completed its run. "If you were ever a baby, The Babies is the musical for you. Going all the way from the womb to preschool, watch the babies as they sing and dance and tell you what they really think. A musical by the family of the creators of The Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island."

Our show took up residence at the St. Luke's Theatre in Manhattan. Previews start up October 13th, with our opening night scheduled for October 27th.
